Interested in becoming a member of the IPS?

We would be delighted to welcome you as a Member – why not try out the IPS first by attending a few of our Shows through our Daily Membership Scheme?  You may compete at up to three shows before having to decide whether or not to become a full member.  Should you decide to join, any vouched daily membership subscriptions (from the same season) will be deducted from your annual subscription (Membership Application Form below).  A complete list of events is available on this website under the “Shows” section.

If you are unable to pay online, please return the following to the IPS Office:

1. Completed Membership Application Form (MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION).  (Must be at least one adult member – over 18 yrs on 1st January of current year accompanying a junior membership application).  Please ensure this form is printed in “landscape” format and completed in full.  Birth certificate for first-time junior member(s) must be submitted with application.  To register a pony with the IPS, please submit completed Life Registration Form, along with existing passport (LIFE OVERSTAMPING FORM).
2. Relevant payment.
3. By law, all ponies must have a valid passport and must be microchipped.

Please note that, although we would request that you renew your membership by beginning of January, subscriptions will be accepted after this time.   This request has been made in order to avoid a backlog in the issuing of membership and showing cards and also to ensure that all those competing at early events are covered by insurance.   Members attending early IPS events, including training held under IPS insurance, and those who have not renewed their subscription by the date of the event, must pay daily membership.  Any further queries on this matter, please contact the office.

Showing Cards may also be paid for online at www.itsplainsailing.com/club/ips.   One card will be issued per pony.

A pony must have a showing card:

1.       To be in the running for points awards at the end of the year.

2.       As proof of measurement.

In order for a showing card to be issued, a pony must be registered/overstamped to the Irish Pony Society and must have a current year or final measurement attained at a recognised SJI measuring centre. Dates and venues may be obtained from the SJI website or Facebook page or by contacting SJI on 045-842300.
